We are thrilled that the RICS has announced the winners of their inaugural RICS Social Impact Awards for Wales, and that Maggie’s, Velindre Cancer Care, was selected winner of the Healthcare category. We were delighted to have been engaged as Quantity Surveyors on this iconic building which is now offering a safe haven to cancer patients and their families. The building was designed by Dow Jones Architects and built by Knox & Wells.
This award follows up the recent success at the Civic Trust awards March 20.
Geraint Evans, Head Judge for the RICS Wales awards quoted that “The built environment is an integral part of the UK economy but also makes a positive impact on our everyday lives. In these challenging times, it is warming to reflect on these winning projects, and how they are not only a demonstration of the breadth of talent within the profession, but showcase how buildings can make towns and cities across the country more inclusive and deliver communities which people can be proud of”
