Congratulations to Ben Smith

Congratulations to Ben Smith on his well deserved success in becoming a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) this month.

Ben joined RPA back in June 2012 after a career change away from the world of sailing. RPA assisted Ben in being accepted on to the Post Graduate Diploma for Quantity Surveying at the University of the West of England to convert his original degree in to an RICS accredited degree making him eligible for the RICS APC pathway. Following 3 years of study and day release Ben received his Post Graduate Diploma and progressed on to the APC pathway.

During his time at RPA Ben has gained various experiences, with retail fit out and private commercial developers, specific experience in mixed residential schemes for both private and public bodies, amended Design & Build forms of contracts as well as undertaking bank monitoring roles and funder due diligence for RPA and takes a particular interest in contract law.

Ben’s success continues RPA’s 6-year record of all entrants gaining their membership qualification – well above the industry average. We invest heavily, and take great pride in our in-house development and training schemes, RPA’s commitment to training will continue with a number of Surveyors due to sit their APC in the near future.
