RPA prides itself on its long standing relationship with Linc Cymru HA, which sees us reach yet another Extra Care Scheme completion for the Linc team. This most recent £5.2m development is located on the site of the former Maesteg Lower Comprehensive School near Bridgend. Appointed again in the roles of Employer’s Agent, Quantity Surveyor and CDM Principal Designer, work involved demolition of the existing school and associated buildings, followed by the construction of a 30 unit care scheme, of which 20 are extra care apartments and 17 bungalows together with communal facilities, all associated external works, drainage and mains service connections including any adoptions required to provide a fully completed development.
RPA’s roles spanned the life of the project from undertaking early stage feasibility, the appointment of the design team; overseeing the tender process; subsequent appointment of a contractor and through to completion of the project including end of defects period. This scheme closely follows the recent completion of Ty Ynysawdre in Tondu and will be followed by completion later in the year of Linc’s first Modular extra care scheme in Aberdare.
