Tudor Butler

Director

Tudor joined RPA in 2003 as a Trainee Graduate Surveyor, since then Tudor has gone onto complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Quantity Surveying from the College of Estate Management and became a Chartered Surveyor in 2013 on qualifying as a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Tudor leads on Social Housing, Elderly Residential, Retail and CDM PD functions and is also responsible for Health & Safety at RPA.

With over 15 years’ experience in the construction industry covering a wide range of sectors from housing to commercial, Tudor has gained particular experience within the retail sector having spent 18 months secondment to a national retailer’s property department working as part of the value management team.

Ben Smith

Director

After deciding on a career change, Ben joined RPA in 2012 as a Graduate Trainee, whilst also enrolling on the Post Graduate Quantity Surveying course at the University of the West of England, graduating 2015.  Ben became a Chartered Surveyor in 2016, on qualifying as a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

Ben is lead on Social Housing, Private Residential and Bank Monitoring services and has responsibility for IT and HR functions at RPA.

During his time at RPA he has gained specific experience in delivering residential housing schemes throughout Wales and the South West of England – from one off bespoke private dwellings, substantial projects for a range of Housing Associations, elderly persons schemes, and large multi-story apartment blocks.  Ben has also undertaken a number of channeling refurbishments and fit out schemes. Further, he has specific experience in Funder Due Diligence having acted on behalf of a number of banks and funding institutions.

David Reeves

Director

David initially joined RPA in 2007 and trained with us for two years as a Graduate before joining another practice for four years, after which David re-joined RPA in March 2013  as part of a team that developed RPA’s presence in the South West& London, and is now the Director responsible for  the operations out of our Bristol and also works for a number of our Clients in London.  David’s professional qualifications include a degree in Law and Business and a Post Graduate Diploma in Quantity Surveying from the College of Estate Management, Reading.  David’s is a Chartered Surveyor having qualified as a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 2014.

David divides his time between the London and Bristol offices, and he leads teams on residential, retail, leisure, education and commercial projects, as well as fund due diligence & monitoring commissions across these two regions.

With over fifteen years’ experience in the Construction Industry, David has also gained wide experience covering various other specialist sectors including, demolition, ground remediation, geotechnical and renewable energy.

 

James Christian

Director

James joined RPA in 2006 as a school leaver to embark on a 5-year part time Quantity Surveying degree as a Trainee Surveyor, graduating in 2011 with a degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management from the University of the West of England.  James is a Chartered Surveyor having qualified as a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors in 2014.

James leads on Private Residential, Commercial and Health sectors and has responsibility for ISO/quality control and training at RPA.

James has nearly 15 years’ experience in the Construction industry, during this time he has gained UK wide experience across a wide array of sectors including, Residential, Commercial, Industrial, Retail, Primary Care and Sustainable Technologies providing Quantity Surveying, Employer’s Agent and Project Management services to Clients in both the public and private sectors.

James also has considerable experience in providing Due Diligence and Fund Monitory services to a number of Banks and Financial Institutions.

Paul Griffiths

Associate Director

Paul commenced employment with RPA in November 2009 as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor. During this period Paul has gained a wide range of experience across the construction industry, gaining his RICS accreditation in 2015. Following a move to a multi-disciplinary practice in the summer of 2019, where he worked on a variety of projects ranging from £200,000 to £20m in value, he returned to RPA in 2020 as Associate Director.

Well liked by clients Paul is pragmatic and consistent in his approach and delivering beyond client expectation. He has high level competence in a range of both residential, commercial sectors and renewable sectors leading as Employer’s Agent, Project Manager, Cost Consultant and Principal Designer.

 

Lyndon Davies

Associate Director

Lyndon has over 35 years experience in the construction industry and knows pretty much  everyone involved in construction across south Wales.

Lyndon first joined RPA back in 2012 leaving to join another regional practice before returning once again. After a short stint delivering a large expansion of units for a national supermarket chain, Lyndon has once again re-joined RPA bringing with him all his wealth of knowledge.

Lyndon has a specific skill set which is in high demand in being able to complete builders quantities and detailed cost plans that can be relied upon. Working now within RPA, he is busy passing on his knowledge to the younger members of RPA to ensure the ‘next generation’ of cost planners are developed.

 

Nick Soady

Executive Surveyor

Since completing an Honors Degree in Quantity Surveying at Reading University in 1985, Nick has now gained over 30 years’ experience as a Chartered Surveyor in the fields of Project Management and Construction Cost Control, primarily representing Clients in the procurement of major building projects in many sectors including Commercial, Residential, Retail, Leisure, healthcare, across both the private and public sectors.

Nick has also been involved in a number of projects within the renewable energy sector where we have provided Cost Consultancy services and seconded staff into specialist construction providers of Photovoltaic Parks and Wind Farms across the UK.

Leanne Shakespeare

Office Manager

Since joining RPA in 2013, Leanne has played a pivotal role in the smooth running of the office and is very much the glue that holds RPA together.  Leanne oversees the operational and facilities aspects of the office ranging from managing reception; coordinating IT related matters, right through to liaising with the team and Directors, to ensure effective document control and compliance with Construction Line, CHAS, ISO etc. In addition, Leanne is instrumental in coordinating events and marketing including bidding and proposals.

Leanne completed her City and Guilds NVQ Diploma in Business and Administration Level 4 in 2021.  In keeping with RPA’s strong training continuous development ethos, Leanne recently further completed her ILM Performance Management Course Level 4.  This has seen her take on an additional role in assisting with HR and Staff inductions as well as mentoring the Graduate & Trainee Surveyors across the business, as part of their personal development and well-being.
