RPA were appointed as Project Manager and Cost Consultant for the extensive refurbishment of the upper four floors of Beacon House, together with the fit-out of new offices for the University’s Vice Chancellor. The project involved works to the Grade II listed building to create high-specification offices for the Vice Chancellor’s department.
The works comprised the complete strip-out and refurbishment of Beacon House (1st–4th floors), including structural improvements, drainage upgrades, installation of new air conditioning systems, specialist acoustic treatments, roof and window repairs, as well as new internal finishes and furniture procurement.
The project had a total value of approximately £2m and was successfully delivered within a six-month programme.
RPA provided full cost and contract consultancy services, playing a key role in maintaining strict budget control and ensuring timely project delivery. We were also responsible for administering the building contract and managing the commercial aspects of the project throughout its lifecycle.
