Filton Avenue Primary School engaged RPA to deliver a series of improvements, including a replacement dining facility, additional classrooms and group rooms, a new reception and community space, multi-use sports pitches, and upgraded external play areas. RPA were appointed as Quantity Surveyor and Principal Designer.
RPA prepared feasibility cost estimates for a range of development options, assisting the school in establishing an overall project budget. This informed their decision on which option to pursue and provided the necessary documentation for a Department for Education (DfE) funding application.
The Costed Feasibility Masterplan Report, BB103 analysis, and Condition Survey were pivotal in securing capital funding through a successful Condition Improvement Fund (CIF) bid. Following completion of the RIBA Stage 0–1 master planning exercise, RPA provided a full delivery service from RIBA Stages 2–7, including preparation of the planning application, management of a competitive tender, and administration of the building contract under a JCT Intermediate Contract.
Since completion of the feasibility masterplan, £1.2 million of building work has been delivered on budget.
