Ben Smith

Ben commenced his journey with RPA in 2012 as a Graduate Trainee, enrolling in RPA’s esteemed training program and steadily advancing to achieve his Chartership in 2016. Throughout his tenure at RPA, Ben has amassed a diverse portfolio of experience, encompassing Social Housing Schemes, private sector residential projects, high-rise developments, Fund Monitoring, regeneration initiatives, and notably, several high-profile listed building conversions. With a comprehensive understanding of various contract forms, Ben specialises in the JCT suite, proficiently navigating Design & Build, Traditional, and Management contract types. His involvement in heritage projects has honed his expertise in complex funding strategies and procurement methods, crucial for achieving project success. Ben prioritises the cultivation of long-term client relationships, ensuring a thorough comprehension of their needs and requirements. Many clients have continued to collaborate with Ben since his early days at RPA, a testament to his tailored and client-centric approach. Among Ben’s notable projects, two stand out as particularly cherished: the Rest in Porthcawl, a luxury renovation and new build apartment complex, and the refurbishment of Newport Market. Both projects have garnered recognition and are among Ben’s proudest achievements.
