The S106 school saw the relocation of St Mellons CIW school from Llanrumney into the new community of St Ederyns. The 1Fe school has a community room for rental by the community. The project was built by Halsall and designed by Stridetreglown. The school can accommodate 210 pupils, including a 48 place part-time nursery, it will serve parts of Pontprennau and Old St Mellons is located East of the Pontprennau link road.
